Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having a great summer! And if you have children at home I also hope you can get in a little "me time" to do some crafting! I have a lovely blue, silver and white wedding card to share today. It uses products from several different brands - Stampin' Up!, Heartfelt Creations and a gorgeous die set from Die'sire!
This week we'll be getting messy so get out your roll of paper towels! The technique uses stencils as stamps to create a fun, but messy background! It's just one more way to get a bit of extra use from crafting things you already have! On that note.... as you watch my videos, keep in mind that if you don't have EXACTLY the same things I have used, think about what you DO have that could be substituted. You don't have that sentiment stamp? Use one you have! That flower stamp isn't in your collection? Well, what do you have? Anything close? Use that! I always list the products I've used but I promise the world will not end if you don't use exactly the same things I did. And you will have a card that is uniquely your own!
Friday Bonus Video!!! I come across so many crafting things that make me go "hmmmmm what could I do with that!" Some work out to be wonderful additions to my card making, some not so much. I thought I would do an "On my table" series every now and then to share some of these products and my thoughts on using them, good or bad. So here is the first video of the series!
We'll be using the Lush Lilacs flower stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations this Wednesday to make a nice poofy hydrangea flower ball for our card! And of course we need to make some patterned background paper and have some lacy bits and glitter!
Happy Independence Day to my US friends! I hope you're all having a wonderful day! I had a 3 day getaway this weekend and it was nice to travel a bit. There was a Stampfest show in Kissimmee and I went to that on Saturday, If you don't know, Kissimmee is near Orlando Florida where Disney World is located. DH and I didn't visit the Big Mouse but we did do some shopping. There are some amazing outlet stores there too! I'm so proud of myself 'cause I didn't max out my credit card at the stamp show lol. I actually bought very little, partly because it was so crowded there and partly because it turned out that much of what I had on my lists (I researched websites of the vendors beforehand) didn't get taken to the show by the vendors! So while I'd love to say it was my fabulous self-control, it wasn't 😄 This Wednesday's card has some good tips for marker coloring in the video, so you may want to watch it!
